Medical-Spanish Program
Description
Spanish-Medical
Course Structure
The program we have developed for medical
professionals
combines the regular Spanish immersion program with medical-specific
Spanish
and cultural training. Morning group classes never have more than
six students, with experienced and college-educated Spanish
teachers.
After your morning classes, you will find yourself engaged in a wide
variety
of medical-oriented activities in the afternoon.
| I
shadowed two doctors, both of whom were quite willing to explain
everything they were doing. They were very
approachable and
informative. I enjoyed learning from them.
- Abilash Gopal,
Medical Student - Tufts University
|
The staff
was helpful, friendly, and welcoming. I felt at home the moment I
stepped in the doors of the school. The medical program allowed
me to see medicine/nutrition in a whole new way.
- Christina Diloreto -

Clinical Shadowing: The
main portion of the medical
package is clinical
shadowing in either a hospital or health clinic. You can observe
the similarities and differences between these clinics and those in the
US.
Many students also choose supplemental private Spanish
lessons, in addition to the standard group course, to focus on
particular needs or on "Medical Spanish" (such as role-playing). |
In addition to the special program,
students are encouraged to participate in the many Latin Immersion
activities, such as salsa lessons, weekend trips, etc.
